Job Description
 
Job Summary:
The Corporate Learning and Development Trainer is a key business partner responsible for driving the identification, development, and delivery of value-added training and talent development modules/programs that are aligned to ongoing strategic initiatives. This position provides tactical expertise in needs-identification, content development and both in-person and virtual facilitation of learning modules/programs that support a learning culture across the organization. Reporting to the Director of Training and Talent Development, and partnering with the other members of the Training and Talent Development team and relevant subject matter experts (SMEs), this position promotes and supports the Training and Talent Development team in supporting the company Vision, Mission, and Core Values.

Key Roles & Responsibilities: 
  • Partners with the Director of Training and Talent Development to conduct needs assessments with Corporate, Distribution Center and Field Operations leadership to identify learning and training gaps.
  • Drives the design and delivery of a blended-learning experience utilizing a variety of learning methodologies that includes in-person and virtual instructor-led training (ILT and VILT), e-learning, self-paced learning, and experiential/stretch assignments.
  • Creatively designs, develops, and implements effective content to train, educate and develop Team Members at the Corporate Office, Field Stores and Distribution Centers, resulting in improved individual performance and enhanced team success helping to position At Home for ongoing growth and success.
  • Highly adept at both in-person and virtual workshop facilitation and presentation of technical training and leadership training/interpersonal skills development.
  • Builds partnerships with stakeholders and SMEs to ensure training is relevant, accurate, future-focused and scalable. 
  • Manages all training logistics and communicates to learners pre/post session on all pertinent information. Reports on participant performance and engagement. 
  • Partners with the Talent Analyst to conduct follow-up studies and surveys of training initiatives to evaluate effectiveness and measure results.
  • Continually improves training content and presentations in response to learner needs and feedback.
  • Ensures a best-in-class, value-added, engaging learning experience.
  • Engages in and maintains effective working relationships across business units/departments and can easily work cross-functionally on assigned projects.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge and serves as a content expert on learning and development trends related to emerging leaders, transitioning leaders, hi-potential leadership development, and change management. 
  • Works collaboratively and cross-functionally with peers and business partners to support the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of the organization.
  • Exhibits fiscal responsibility in maintaining costs related to the Training and Talent Development G&A budget. Prepares and submits expense reports on a timely basis each month. 
  • Promotes and protects the At Home Brand.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications & Competencies:
  • 7+ years of training and talent development experience including developing learner-centered training curriculum (ILT, VILT, job-aids, self-study, etc.), workshop facilitation and presentations, needs assessment, and leadership development for various levels of employees from front line to senior-manager level. Experience in all three learner audiences (corporate, distribution center and field operations) a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree minimum (HR, Communication, Organizational Development, or related discipline is a plus)
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, hybrid environment, and can manage multiple priorities while still focusing on being detail-oriented. 
  • Demonstrated success in building, delivering and measuring high-impact learning experiences to various levels of learners.
  • Demonstrated project management and change management experience. 
  • Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, and Excel. Additional experience with Oracle performance management systems, Smartsheet, and Articulate 360 a plus.
  • Additional certifications such as CPLP, MBTI, DISC, DDI, Achieve Global, 360 Feedback, Certified Coaching preferred
  • Professional HR certification (SPHR, GPHR, PHR, CCP, SHRM-CP, CCB or CEBS) preferred
