Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW:
The Learning Designer provides project leadership and expertise in the design, development, and implementation of training and development materials for operations team members and managers at Olive Garden, specifically focused on building skills that support business strategies. This role also contributes to the planning and execution of the annual General Manager conferences.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
-Leads the design and development of brand learning solutions for all operations, including frontline and manager training guides, Darden Intranet content management, Learning Management System (LMS) updates, and eLearning modules.
-Maintains up-to-date training materials on KrowD (Darden’s intranet) and in Storyline/Rise modules, ensuring
content is accurate and aligned with business strategies and priorities.
-Partners collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Training, HR, Creative Services, Operations Excellence, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure content accuracy.
-Conduct needs analysis to determine effective strategies to address training needs and skill gaps.
-Designs and maintains graphically engaging classroom and on-the-job training materials including facilitator guides, participant guides, PowerPoint presentations, activities, handouts, job aids, and e-learning modules.
-Develops learning activities that enhance knowledge retention.
-Manages project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure timely and effective training rollouts.
-Fosters relationships with vendor partners to deliver high-quality and cost-effective learning solutions (Halo,
Smallwares, Print team, etc.)
-Delivers project and administrative support for Training and HR teams, including document design and formatting (InDesign, PowerPoint, and Word), content editing and proofreading, and execution of training solutions across classroom, eLearning (Storyline/Rise), blended learning solutions, and print materials.
-Supports graphic design for all meetings and conferences for the brand.
-Stays current on learning and development trends and best practices.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS: 
-Working knowledge of restaurant operations.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in instructional writing across multiple formats, including instructor-led, self-paced, eLearning storyboards, video scripts, and job aids.
-Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe InDesign.
-Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects on time.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: 
-Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, education/educational technology, human resources, or business.
-Experience developing assets and/or eLearning using Articulate 360, Storyline, and other authoring tools.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 
-Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
-Experience with HTML coding.
