Description

Purpose
The Learning & Development Program Manager is responsible for designing and executing scalable learning strategies that align with AAIS goals and industry standards. This role oversees the integration and optimization of learning technologies within HR systems, manages onboarding and leadership development programs, and ensures continuous improvement through data-driven insights. The position requires strong collaboration across all business units to deliver competency-based training solutions, while fostering partnerships with leading eLearning providers to expand professional education offerings. The Learning & Development Program Manager will pioneer strategic relationships with P&C industry leading institutes to develop branded and white-label learning services, standardize content delivery, and drive strategic growth through emerging trends and monetization opportunities, reinforcing AAIS’s position as a thought leader in P&C insurance education.

Responsibilities
Learning & Development Strategy
  • Design and implement scalable learning programs aligned with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify skill gaps and create targeted training paths.
  • Support competency-based development initiatives and professional certification programs.
  • Develop and manage onboarding, compliance, and leadership development programs.
  • Coordinate live and on-demand training sessions, including vendor-led offerings.
  • Track participation, feedback, and performance metrics to continuously improve programs.
  • Partner with HR, IT, and department managers to align learning initiatives with business needs.
  • Facilitate feedback loops with employees and leadership to refine learning strategies.
  • Support change management efforts related to learning and development systems.
  • Identify and manage partnerships with leading learning platforms and increase utilization internally. 
Systems & Process Optimization
  • Configure and maintain learning modules within the HRIS system.
  • Evaluate and integrate eLearning platforms, ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
  • Monitor usage and effectiveness of digital learning tools and platforms.
  • Document current training processes, workflows, and SOPs.
  • Standardize learning content and ensure accessibility across platforms.
  • Maintain a repository of training materials and update them regularly.
Industry Partnerships & Content Development
  • Negotiate and manage joint ventures with Member organizations, Partners, external learning providers, etc. to expand AAIS’s reach and influence in professional education.
  • Collaborate with industry partners and internal subject-matter experts to design, publish, and manage white-label training or branded courses that reflect AAIS’s expertise and standards.
  • Develop a scalable framework for delivering AAIS content across multiple platforms and formats (eLearning, webinars, microlearning).
  • Ensure all branded content aligns with AAIS’s mission and industry best practices, reinforcing thought leadership in P&C insurance education.
Strategic Growth & Innovation
  • Research emerging trends in insurance education and integrate them into AAIS’s learning offerings.
  • Design monetization strategies for AAIS-branded training programs, including subscription models and certification pathways.
  • Serve as a liaison between AAIS and external learning communities to promote innovation and knowledge sharing.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., Paylocity, Workday, ADP, SAP) and eLearning tools.
  • Strong documentation and process mapping skills.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills to engage external partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent project management skills for launching new programs and scaling branded learning services.
  • Knowledge of brand development and marketing principles as they apply to training and professional education.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage joint ventures or collaborative projects with third-party providers.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple channels and asynchronously in a remote-first working environment.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Communications, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience working on a Human Resources team. 
  • 3+ years of experience specific to working in L&D, HR systems, or training program management.
  • Travel is required for annual all-company gatherings or team design sessions (up to 5% of the time). Additional travel may be required to manage strategic relationships.
