Job Description
The Learning & Development Specialist supports the design, development, and delivery of role-based curriculum and learning programs. This role requires solid organizational skills and a collaborative mindset to contribute to learning initiatives. The Specialist will assist in the implementation of the Workday Learning LMS and support onboarding practices with a focus on in-person training and enhancing the employee experience. This role will work report to the Senior Manager of Learning & Development (L&D), and partner across both the Talent and L&D teams, as well as with business leaders and HR Business Partners, to contribute to talent development efforts and ensuring alignment with business objectives through continuous improvement and learner feedback.

POSITION LOCATION:
This role is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of our headquarters in Deerfield, IL, with in-office presence expected at least 3 days per week (typically Tuesday–Thursday). In mid-2025, Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield, offering vibrant collaborative workspaces, onsite daycare, dining, fitness amenities, and more.

YOUR ROLE:
  • Support the implementation of the Workday Learning LMS, contributing to integration and user adoption efforts.
  • Assist in revising onboarding practices with a focus on in-person training and improving the employee experience.
  • Contribute to the design, development, and delivery of role-based curriculum and learning programs.
  • Collaborate with team members to offer effective learning solutions for a hybrid learning environment.
  • Help design and deliver learning content using various methods, including videos, eLearning, instructor-led content (virtual and in-person), job aids, tool kits, guides, and learning portals.
  • Apply instructional design methodologies to create learning solutions that support business and learner needs.
  • Build relationships with business leaders and HRBPs to support learner objectives and development priorities.
  • Assist in gathering user feedback and evaluations to inform continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to support the development of learning products.
  • Facilitate learning programs and workshops using diverse training methods and formats.
  • Support the assessment of learning effectiveness through evaluation techniques.
  • Use analytical thinking to research and recommend solutions to learning-related challenges.
  • Provide insights to help identify skills gaps and support upskilling initiatives.

Qualifications
  • 4-year relevant degree
  • 1+ years of experience in instructional design, learning delivery, or talent development, or a combination of these years of experience between both the Human Resources function and experience in a business role related to training or development
  • Exposure to onboarding practices and/or learning program development
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), preferably Workday Learning
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Organized and proactive in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • Exposure to facilitation certifications (e.g., DDI)
  • Experience with Inclusion or Culture programs at a large multinational company or organization
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $80,000 USD - $126,500 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
