Description
The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for designing, developing and delivering engaging learning experiences across the organization to support enterprise initiatives and enhance employee performance. The role utilizes expertise in adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies and varied learning technologies to ensure effective learning outcomes. The role will lead projects to identify training needs, design and deliver innovative solutions and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), cross-functional teams and departmental leaders to identify learning needs and objectives
  • Apply instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and adult leaning principles to design and develop instructional materials including participant/instructor guides, job aids, assessments, interactive eLearning courses, role play scenarios, self-paced study, and performance evaluation tools
  • Facilitate instructor-led training programs both virtually and in-person while managing group dynamics using learner focused environment and adult accelerated learning methods
  • Reviews all programs assigned and continuously ensures they meet the rigorous standards that are set forth; revises existing training materials and programs bases on audit results, questionnaires, changing procedures and feedback from subject matter experts, program sponsors and product owners
  • Manage training content, learning programs and users in Learning Management System
  • Trains other trainers and managers on new content
  • Leads and coordinates projects for the department
  • May require work on physical bank premises

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, L&D, Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources or related experience
  • 3-5 years instructional design and training/facilitating experience; proficiency in eLearning development tools such as Articulate, Captivate and/or Camtasia; Experience with implementing training programs in a high-volume environment
  • Experience in Banking, Mortgage or Financial Services industry preferred; Familiarity with SharePoint, Salesforce and/or nCino also preferred

Skills:
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft software including Excel, Word and PowerPoint; basic keyboarding and calculator skills; must be able to perform simple math and carry out written instructions
  • Travel to a variety of locations to perform work and/or attend meetings as required
  • Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential functions of the position
  • Lifting in an office setting may be required up to 30lbs.
