About the Role
This is a newly created role that will work directly with the CEO to develop and implement a marketing and communications strategy that elevates the impact of the organization and its network partners. The Manager of Communications, Marketing & Events joins a rapidly growing organization with a national profile, a dynamic coalition of leaders, and an opportunity to play a key role in our next phase of growth and impact. This role will involve developing, executing, and scaling organizational capacity to communicate clearly across our network and beyond to create community and amplify and extend the impact of BHEF and its network partners.

We're looking for a hands-on, creative, and organized communicator who loves both the strategic and the roll-up-your-sleeves sides of this work. You'll work directly with our CEO and other members of the team to shape how BHEF shows up in the world and how our members and partners stay informed and engaged.

What You'll Do

Communications Management & Execution (50%)
  • Develop and deliver compelling content across email, social media, website, and other channels to communicate key messages to our network community and beyond
  • Manage editorial and event calendars and ensure consistent, on-brand messaging
  • Copy-write, prepare, and disseminate organizational newsletters and communications for public use, network use, and selected initiative use
  • Develop and support staff development of materials including announcements, Op-Eds, reports, case studies, and blogs
  • Support broader storytelling efforts that reflect our mission and amplify our network's impact
  • Draft and manage dissemination of organizational news and announcements for national, industry, and regional media use
  • Maintain organizational brand kit, visual identity, and tools and assets for staff
  • Assist with speechwriting, copywriting, and similar assets for CEO

Communications Operations and Technology Management (20%)
  • Manage and maintain the platforms and tools that power our communications (CRM, email marketing, website, etc.) to our network and beyond
  • Lead contact and list management to provide key segmentation and ability to deliver key messages to targeted audiences
  • Develop automations and workflows to accelerate email list growth, drive engagement, and reduce administrative burden for customers and staff
  • Procure and maintain on-going relationships with vendors and partners including graphic designers, photographers, and similar resources
  • Maintain website and social media sites
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems and workflows
  • Stay current on emerging tools — including AI — and bring ideas for how we can work smarter

Event Production and Execution (20%)
  • Plan and execute two national, marquee events bringing together about 125 executives across the BHEF network, supporting the content and experience in partnership with CEO and key staff
  • Coordinate logistics, vendors, brand assets, communications, and follow-up to ensure events run smoothly and reflect BHEF’s brand, build community, and advance priority initiatives
  • Gather feedback and continuously improve the attendee experience
  • Build cross-departmental event planning systems, ensuring smooth logistics, promotion, storytelling integration, and follow-up engagement
  • Market and support execution of ~8-10 network and public webinars annually through integrated channels

Team Collaboration & Leadership (10%)
  • Provide on-going consultative support to grow staff capacity through partnership and training
  • Develop and execute communications plans to support network and Solutions Lab initiatives and provide on-going strategic guidance to colleagues
  • Prepare outcomes reports and analysis to guide on-going improvement for CEO and staff leadership

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in communications, marketing, events, or similar
  • Genuine enthusiasm for and some experience using AI tools to enhance your work
  • Experience planning and managing events for 100-175 people
  • Administrator experience with Hubspot, Mailchimp, Google Analytics, and similar tools
  • Background working in a coalition, network, or membership-based organization

  • Strong analytical, data-driven mindset with the ability to translate insights into strategy
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills
  • Strong writing skills and an eye for design and detail
  • A self-starter who can manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a remote environment
