Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and agile Manager of Instructional Design to lead the design, development, and delivery of dynamic learning solutions for our Customer Care contact center team. This role is essential in enabling our specialists to perform confidently in a fast-changing environment by providing just-in-time, rapidly developed, and continuously refreshed training content. This individual will develop a range of training materials for internal teams, including instructor-led training, e-learnings, job aids, videos, and other learning experiences.
You will partner closely with SMEs, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to create learning experiences that ensure our agents can quickly access the knowledge and tools they need—exactly when they need them. Reporting to the Director of Customer Care Learning & Development, the Manager will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering comprehensive training programs to support our customer service initiatives.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Execute full development lifecycle of training materials development including needs assessment, design (storyboard creation, scripting, image sourcing, facilitator notes), and final development.
- Design and develop modular, easily accessible learning assets including microlearning, videos, job aids, and self-serve knowledge articles to support a dynamic Customer Care environment.
- Apply adult learning theory, just-in-time learning best practices, and re-learning principles to ensure specialists can respond to new tools, updates, and policies with speed and confidence.
- Create training materials including e-learnings (Articulate Rise & Storyline), instructor-led PowerPoint decks, PDFs, and video scripts.
- Partner with SMEs, learning developers, and stakeholders to build job-relevant, cohesive and comprehensive educational experiences that scales with changing content, systems, and product updates.
- Continuously improve and iterate on content based on feedback, analytics, and business changes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Clinical, Marketing, and Product to align learning solutions with broader company initiatives and branding.
- Leverage data, evaluation methods, and feedback to evaluate learning effectiveness and drive content enhancements.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design or related field; or 3+ years of related instructional design experience within a fast-paced, technical environment (medical device or healthcare preferred)
- Strong portfolio demonstrating design documents and rapid content development and agile instructional design, preferred inclusion of example slide deck, performance support, e-learning, job aids, and handouts
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Attention to detail and the ability to collaborate with others are critical for this role
- Intermediate to advanced experience in partnering with subject matter experts to obtain content and training best practices for internal facing educational and training experiences
- Intermediate to advanced experience in full development lifecycle including needs assessment, design (storyboard creation, scripting, image sourcing, facilitator notes), and final development of slide decks (Microsoft PowerPoint), e-learnings (Articulate Rise and Storyline), job aids and handouts (Adobe Acrobat PDF)
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of graphic design principles with skills
- Basic to intermediate skill level in video editing and creation in Camtasia
- Exceptional ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, iterative environment
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams
- A passion for developing educational experiences that are both engaging and impactful, with demonstrated success in bringing innovative ideas to life
- Knowledge of diabetes is strongly preferred
- Preferred but not required experience with medical device training, software as a medical device and diabetes therapeutic area
- Expertise in just-in-time learning, performance support, content reuse, and rapid learning deployment strategies
- Ability to simplify complex content and processes for frontline teams
- Strong understanding of adult learning theory, performance support systems, and change management
- Experience building training for CRM systems or call center tools is a plus
- Knowledge of diabetes or patient support in the medical device space is a strong plus
Position is remotely based but requires occasional national travel for department meetings and to the home office in Manchester, NH
