Job Description:
ASU Local was born from ASU's pioneering efforts to create community-based college pathways, reimagining higher education to ensure equitable access for all learners. ASU Local blends the flexibility of online learning with in-person support and engagement. It offers students the opportunity to pursue an ASU degree while staying rooted in their own communities, supported by coaches, advocates, and peers. The program is designed to expand equitable access to higher education by removing barriers of geography and traditional campus constraints. Through ASU Local, learners gain both a world-class ASU education and the resources to succeed in college, career, and life.

This is a grant-funded position with an initial six-month contract, renewable contingent upon performance.
Position Salary Range:   $75,000 - $77,000 per year; DOE

Essential Duties:
Enrollment Growth & Recruitment
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to increase enrollment in ASU Local programs across all current California sites (Long Beach, Los Angeles, and Chula Vista), as well as a new site under development.
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to increase enrollment in ASU Local programs at all sites 
  • Support the ASU Local leadership team to partner with community colleges in Los Angeles and other target regions, and to expand awareness of ASU Local pathways
  • Work closely with the Director of Recruitment and Enrollment, and implement recruitment strategies
  • Coordinate with site staff to ensure consistent messaging, recruitment practices, and student support across sites
  • Coordinate targeted outreach campaigns through strong collaboration with the University College's Creative Communications team, and promote transfer pathways and bachelor's degree options
  • Carry a caseload of student coaching to better understand on-the-ground challenges and needs, ensuring that central recruitment and support strategies are responsive to student realities.
Transfer Pathways & Student Access
  • Collaborate with various teams to train ASU Local staff members and students to maximize the use of tools such as "mypath2asu"
  • Work directly with community college advocates and leaders to ensure smooth transfer processes, reducing barriers for students
  • Track transfer credit alignment and provide early guidance to prospective transfer students
Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Implement enrollment-to-completion strategies that support the 90% retention goal for ASU Local students
  • Monitor enrollment, transfer, and retention data to identify gaps and improve student success outcomes
  • Maintain enrollment dashboards and recruitment activity reports aligned with grant reporting requirements
  • Use data analytics to track progress toward enrollment, transfer, and retention goals, adjusting strategies as needed
  • Prepare reports for internal and grant-related stakeholders on enrollment outcomes and progress toward objectives
Community Engagement & Advocacy
  • Represent ASU Local at community and professional events, building trust with students, families, and community partners
  • Advocate for the needs of non-traditional, online students in all enrollment and recruitment initiatives
  • Promote ASU Local's mission of expanding access to higher education through flexible and affordable pathways
Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director to support the organization's mission and strategic priorities.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Evidence of a Master's degree preferred; however, relevant work experience is highly valued. You have earned a bachelor's degree. Ideally, you will have a master's of education or equivalent.  
  • Experience in data reporting, recruitment, and enrollment 
  • Experience in instructing, coaching, or mentoring students (3+ years). 
  • Evidence of how you have outperformed benchmarks in the areas of increased persistence, engagement, and goal attainment for young adults.  
  • Evidence of having designed learning experiences and curriculum with a specific focus on engaged learning & hands-on programming for small & large groups of students.  This may include experiential learning, deeper learning, and place-based learning. 
  • Experience with recruiting and/ or enrolling in a higher education setting
  • Experience with student Case Management
Working Environment:
  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse
  • Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work
  • Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 25 pounds
  • Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to the resolution of conflicts
  • Communicate to perform essential functions
