Description
Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group, a division of Macmillan Publishers, is seeking a Manager, Marketing Operations to join our team. The Manager will be responsible for overseeing a variety of operational tasks including, but not limited to, managing MCPG’s seasonal schedule, promotional budget and expenses, and internal workflow processes.
We are seeking an organized self-starter with experience in marketing operations. The Manager must have excellent communication skills, confidence interacting with colleagues at all levels, a demonstrated ability to develop and champion new workflows and navigate complex situations, and a strong attention to detail.
 
A love of children’s publishing is a plus but not required. This role will report to the Executive Director of Marketing and will work closely with cross-functional colleagues across the marketing, sales, design, and managing editorial departments.

What You'll Do:
  • Spearhead seasonal calendar creation process and orchestration of internal deadlines for the marketing department, including coordinating reminders and communication of deadlines to the entire MCPG marketing team.
  • Manage planning process for seasonal Sales Conference meetings: scheduling, organizing, vetting materials, recording presentations.
  • Act as key liaison with the Sales, Design, Managing Editorial and Production departments in the US to manage coordination of sales materials, maintain grids, monitor and ensure allocation.
  • Implement and direct the display and print promotional materials creation process on behalf of the marketing team, coordinating closely with internal marketing design, production, sales and warehouse teams and with external vendors, and designers.
  • Create and implement MCPG’s promotional budget tracking system, including: developing a cross-departmental workflow, collaborating with cross-functional colleagues to ensure expenses are accounted for consistently across systems, creating and communicating monthly reporting for the marketing department.
  • Develop and maintain additional budgetary and financial processes for marketing, department, including: Setting up new vendors for payment, tracking seasonal, round-up, and miscellaneous expenses with department heads. 
  • Organize cross-departmental initiatives as assigned.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to proactively communicate effectively across departments and seniority levels.
  • Strong knowledge of Airtable, Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
  • 5+ years in marketing operations or related field.
  • Publishing experience is a plus but not required.
  • Working knowledge of additional project management systems like Hive and Basecamp a plus but not required.
  • Working knowledge of financial tracking and payment systems like Concur a plus but not required.

The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $80,000.

This position is classified as remote but is tied to our New York, NY office located at 120 Broadway. Employment is subject to New York State tax withholding under applicable regulations.
