Job Summary
The Center for Business, Health, and Prosperity advances societal prosperity by integrating value-creating business innovation with health enabling practices. The Center is housed at the Impact & Prosperity Epicenter, a living-learning community that is home to students and professionals dedicated to a shared vision for the betterment of people and the planet. The Center leads Prosperity U programming, a transformative student experience focused on improving economic, social, and personal well-being across communities. Prosperity U hosts many events throughout the academic year including a speaker series, community and social events, book clubs, concert series, service projects, and other activities. 

The Student Experiences and Program Manager manages and oversees the planning and recruitment of education and programming functions including (but not limited to) degree programs and student programming and experiences for the Center for Business, Health, and Prosperity at the University of Utah. This position will manage Prosperity U programming, Prosperity Solutions, and Center Communications. Acts as a catalyst between departments, faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality programming and customer service. Coordinates intern scheduling and development in partnership with staff advisors to support student development and operational needs.
Responsibilities
Programming
  • Assist faculty advisor with implementation of on-campus student experiences and programming, including the key Prosperity U initiative.
  • Develop activities, plans, and programming for Prosperity U on-campus activities and programming in conjunction with the faculty advisor.
  • Support recruiting and outreach efforts to promote new and existing programs and degrees to internal and external customers in collaboration with communications interns, administrative staff, and faculty advisor.
  • Serve as a primary resource for Prosperity U members/students and other program participants.
  • Research, plan, and develop programming for summer EPIC programming at the Impact & Prosperity Epicenter.
  • May assist in development and implementation of recruitment strategy and planning for student experiences and programs in collaboration with program leadership.

Prosperity Solutions
  • Assist faculty advisor with Prosperity Solutions projects and programming, including taking individual initiative to further Prosperity Solutions initiative.
  • Manage Prosperity U and Prosperity Solutions team of interns and assist with project initiatives and execution of tasks and deliverables.
  • Conduct research or gather information to further outcomes associated with projects.
  • Represent organization to internal and external audiences, particularly as part of Prosperity U and Prosperity Solutions initiative.

Center Communications
  • In conjunction with staff and interns, develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy.
  • In conjunction with staff and interns, develop marketing and communication materials from concept to execution including the following channels: social media, printed flyers, website content, newsletters, and annual reports.
  • Develop and ensure a quality check process and review of all communication materials in advance of publication.

Management of student interns
  • Lead and coordinate bi-weekly intern meetings.
  • Coordinate intern schedules.
  • Provide direction to interns in the absence of supervisor.
  • Provide feedback to interns, in coordination with supervisors, on a regular basis.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
Four to six years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred.
