Job Description
Responsibilities
- Leads a team of trainers and change managers to execute on department and university initiatives
- Identifies and prioritizes the efforts of training and knowledge management personnel to deliver effective training for the Enrollment Department and the University.
- Leads and coaches a team of trainers and change managers to execute on department and university initiatives
- Manages the organization, storage, and accessibility of training and knowledge materials in LMS for students and staff.
- Maintains a deep understanding of organizational needs, technical requirements, and quality standards that impact overall employee performance within their focus area.
- Analyzes performance gaps and identifies opportunities for learning and development initiatives to address skill deficiencies and enhance employee performance.
- Researches and educates self and team on the newest technologies and methodologies for improving training and change delivery.
- Plans and delivers key training and change initiatives; meets deadlines and project goals.
- Apply structured change management methodology and lead change management activities as defined within the Prosci ADKAR change management framework.
- Responsible for the execution of change management strategies, achievement of change management deliverables, and KPIs.
- Works closely with Enrollment and University leadership to ensure efforts, priorities, and messaging are aligned with broader University goals.
- Applies knowledge, training, change management, and communication skills when handling complex issues while empowering the team to do the same.
- Ability to quickly learn systems from diverse areas (Marketing, EdTech, Admissions, Readmissions, etc.) to deliver training materials for many specific roles.
- Collaborate with WGU’s P&T Training and Development Team to align training methodologies as an active Training Center of Excellence leader. Measures, reports, and responds with training and change initiatives on employee adoption of new technologies, processes, etc.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of training best practices, curriculum, instruction & design principles and methodologies, eLearning authoring, and LMS management.
- Strong knowledge of how people go through change and the change process; experience with Prosci ADKAR.
- Demonstrated understanding of change management theory/techniques and the demonstrated ability to implement across matrixed organization.
- Demonstrated understanding of Agile Project Management.
- Ability to create and report on performance and other metrics.
- Knowledge and experience with technology integrations.
- Dynamic interpersonal skills, working effectively with departments across the university.
- Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects with urgency and accuracy.
- Track record of delivering training and change materials ahead of future deployment.
- Shows a willingness to be innovative and take risks that promote successful learning outcomes.
- Engages in creative problem-solving to lead and drive continuous improvement.
- Adapts quickly to shifting priorities, driving progress and guiding teams through change with clarity and focus.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Experience
- 5 + years of related training & change experience.
- 3 + years in a management or leadership role.
- Requires broad management knowledge to lead the department. Generally, has advanced level knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the University.
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Suite, or other media/LMS creation tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design and Technology, Adult Education, Human Resource Development, Organizational Psychology, or related field.
- Experience with ServiceNow, Microsoft Projects, or other IT incident management software.
- Experience with Webex, Teams, or other collaborative tools.
- Experience managing a remote team.
- Prosci Certified or equivalent (ACMP, CCMP)
Experience in lieu of education
Equivalent relevant experience performing the essential functions of this job may substitute for education degree requirements. Generally, equivalent relevant experience is defined as 1 year of experience for 1 year of education and is the discretion of the hiring manager.
