Job Summary  | Marketing Communication SpecialistsEngage in the development and execution of strategic marketing communications to efficiently support product launch campaigns and company brand across various communication channels. Create communication programs that promote the organization and its products and services through various means including blogs and social media, websites, product collateral, logos, or other promotional products. Collaborate with external partners/vendors to execute promotional events and campaigns. Develop a calendar for social media campaigns and initiatives to ensure constant interaction and engagement with customers and prospects. Assist in analyzing marketing data to help shape future marketing strategies.This position serves the College of Fine Arts External Relations group which includes the Marketing & Communications team and the Advancement team. The three main pillars of this position’s tasks are: Managing and writing/creating for the College of Fine Arts blog, The Finer Points Grant writing and funding campaigns Alumni relations
Responsibilities  | Marketing Communication Specialist, IIRequires moderate skill set and proficiency in discipline. Conducts work assignments of increasing complexity, under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment. Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience. Managing the editorial calendar for the College of Fine Arts which includes stories/news from its five academic units (Department of Art & Art History, School of Dance, Department of Film & Media Arts, School of Music, and Department of Theatre) Using a content management system (Joomla!) to publish blog  Managing timelines/reporting and creating content/communications for grant applications, giving days, crowd funding campaigns, and annual appeals Management of the Fine Arts Ambassadors (recent alumni group) and alumni cultivation and communication efforts Event planning and execution including our annual Arts Bash, CFA Assembly, Scholarship Brunch, and donor/alumni events hosted by the academic units
Minimum Qualifications  | EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Marketing Communication Specialist, II: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.
Preferences  | We are looking for a strong storyteller who can create compelling narratives, most often in written formats, but also in other digital media, that appeal to a wide variety of audiences. In addition to understanding and emulating the unique tones of our varied art forms/academic units, this person will need to target specific segments of our audience, including: prospective students, their parents/guardians, donors/foundations, the university community, and alumni. Knowledge of and strong appreciation for the arts preferred. The pace of this job is fast and often includes competing timelines and deadlines. Strong project and time management skills preferred. Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, project management software, content management systems, social media, and other online creative tools preferred.
