Job Summary/Basic Function:  | To maintain and develop enterprise network infrastructures that are secure and cost effective throughout the university, residential halls and remote sites. This includes wired and wireless topologies that support day-to-day operations. These designs will meet both today’s academic standards along with future needs.
Minimum Qualifications  | Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related work experience OR Master’s degree and 3 years of related work experience.

Proficiency in network protocols, network hardware, and associated software. Familiarity with both local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN). Experience with WiFi networks.

Preferred Qualifications  | CCNA, Network+
Essential Functions and percent of time:  | 15%Develop strategic planning for overall network connectivity which includes implementing enterprise network topologies throughout the campus environment that meets budgetary guidelines and security related best-practices.

20%Including remote sites, design and implement network topologies to ensure that the network infrastructure is being monitored along with resolution management that follows current standards such as ITIL.
Essential Functions and percent of time (cont'd):  | 20%Maintain and adjust the existing campus topology by providing detailed analysis and specifications for adjustments to the network infrastructure that supports the LAN/WAN and wireless topology.

20%Along with hardware management, troubleshoot and maintain current software applications. This encompasses server management that ensures network connectivity. Deployment and maintenance of these current applications and other services are also maintained.

20%Develop policies, procedure and standards that include documentation and development plans in relation to best-practices. This includes procedures, instructions and administration for all network topologies including off-campus environments. Advise university along with university-affiliated entities on the network topology and problem resolution. Provide analysis of current and forecasted values that includes potential issues along with historical data. Provide solutions and advise on pending and current related issues.

5%Monitor, implement and provide on-going data including statistics for reporting purposes in relation to the existing infrastructure. Other position duties as assigned.
Non-Essential Functions and percent of time:  |
Working Conditions  | This role requires regular on-campus presence, a hybrid work agreement may be approved. May be required to work weekends and nights when necessary and to carry paging or cellular equipment for normal business activities and after normal working hour’s response. Routine lifting is required when transporting equipment and supplies from inventory to field site; must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
