Wytheville Community College (WCC), a member of the Virginia Community College System (VCCS), seeks an organized and student-focused New Student Inquiry, Application and Admissions Specialist to support the college’s enrollment operations. This position serves as the primary point of contact for Salesforce, XAP application systems, and Mitek identity verification tools, assisting with system functionality, troubleshooting, and process coordination.

Working under the direction of the Coordinator of Admissions and Records, the New Student Inquiry, Application and Admissions Specialist support the full prospective and new student lifecycle-from inquiry to application and transition to advising-ensuring accurate data management, timely communication, and effective system utilization. This position also assists with onboarding and enrollment advice. This position is fully on campus and works closely with Admissions and Records staff, Student Services staff, IT, Workforce and other campus stakeholders.

Inquiry & Application Management

• Monitor incoming student inquiries and applications to ensure timely processing and follow-up.
• Provide excellent customer service and assistance to students who have application
or identity verification issues.
• Support communication workflows within the Salesforce system to ensure prospective students receive accurate and timely information.
• Assist with tracking inquiry-to-application conversion and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
• Ensure accurate data entry, data integrity, and alignment between systems.

Student Engagement and Onboarding

• Serve as the primary point of contact for perspective students and individuals with requests for information.
• Coordinate outreach to all new applicants to ensure student access to MYWCC applications and ensure the connection to the assigned academic advisor.
• Serve as a backup Navigator to assist Student Services in appointment setting, financial aid and scholarship assistance and other onboarding functions.
• Support EAB Navigate appointment workflows, student success campaigns, and surveys.
• Participate in enrollment events, orientations and community outreach events.

Compliance & Data Integrity

• Ensure compliance with FERPA and institutional policies regarding student data.
• Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive information.
• Support accurate recordkeeping across enrollment systems.
• Assist in preparing reports and documentation as requested by the Coordinator of Admissions and Records
Special Assignments  | May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications 
• Experience in admissions, enrollment services, customer service, or administrative support
• Demonstrated ability to learn and support technology systems such as CRM or other application platforms.
• Experience handling sensitive or confidential information.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, on-campus environment
• Proficient in use of technology, including Microsoft Office and Google docs

Additional Considerations 
• Experience working with Salesforce or another CRM platform.
• Familiarity with online application systems such as XAP.
• Experience in a higher education or community college setting
