Office and Fiscal Assistant Full Description

Job Description
The Office and Fiscal Assistant supports the financial and administrative operations of Virginia Tech Intellectual Properties (VTIP, Inc.). This position is responsible for providing general office support, assisting with financial and records management, and contributing to ongoing projects within the unit. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.

Position is located in Blacksburg, VA. This position is average up to 30 hours between Monday through Friday. The schedule will be confirmed up on hire and may be adjusted to meet the business needs of the unit.
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in an administrative or accounting support role
• Proficiency with office suite application, especially spreadsheets
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential materials with discretion
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
• Associate degree or coursework in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
• Experience working in a higher education or nonprofit environment
• Familiarity with financial databases or accounting software
