Operations Coordinator (Administrative Program Support 2) Full Description

JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Director of Operations and Strategic Initiatives, the Operations Coordinator implements the day-to-day operations of the UConn Stamford Campus. The Operations Coordinator is responsible for supervising students and overseeing the University’s food pantry (Husky Harvest), key management, physical security support, meal plan administration, Welcome Center support, and office moves coordination.  The position will support with liaising with campus facilities and various external partners and support services as needed, related to the main campus and residential facilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations Coordination (70% - 25 weekly hours)
  1. Oversees implementation of office and space moves, utilizing student staff and external resources as needed.
  2. Coordinates the Stamford surplus process through DAS, including cataloging, posting, coordinating pickup, and discarding, based on state guidelines.
  3. Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates student staff, with responsibility to prioritize assignments and activities according to organizational needs.
  4. Supports meal plan administration by responding to emails, reconciling concerns, and processing student transactions.
  5. Processes student financial transactions to support meal plan administration, welcome center operations, and other campus operations as needed.
  6. Supports the success of Events and Conference Services through event setup, break-down, and frequent room checks.
  7. Supports communicating and enforcing campus guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  8. Supports the Director of Operations with strategic planning as required.
  9. Supports campus advocacy efforts of the Director of Operations by liaising/supporting faculty requests within the parameters of established policies and procedures.
  10. Manages key inventory, keeps accurate records, cuts keys as needed and serves as the secondary point of contact for GenTech security access system.
  11. Works closely with Facilities to ensure the timely completion of work requests and repairs.
  12. Supports in collaboration with consultants and campus partners on various University construction, engineering, and renovation projects and code issues.
  13. Implements changes approved by the Director of Operations from requests for accommodations through the ADA process.
  14. Performs related work as required.
Husky Harvest (30% - 10 weekly hours)
  1. Oversees the day-to-day Husky Harvest operation, including hiring, supervision, evaluation, and scheduling of student coverage.
  2. Manages food purchasing and stocking the shelves of the University’s food Pantry (Husky Harvest).
  3. Establishes and maintains relationships with existing and potential donors toward the Food Insecurity Foundation Fund.
  4. Maintains records and systems processes for data collection and authorization of usage of the Filling in the Blanks food insecurity side of the pantry.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
  • Bachelor's degree. 
  • Two years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience resolving problems effectively and efficiently.
  • Experience using computer software such as MS Office, MS Excel, and other relevant electronic platforms.
  • Experience with managing social media, including Instagram.
  • Experience engaging with and maintaining relationships with a variety of constituents, such as faculty, staff, alumni, campus supporters, community leaders, organizations, and other partners within a diverse community.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience working within a college or University, or similar environment, with an Operations component.
  • Experience managing student workers in a higher education setting.
  • Experience managing multiple social media accounts.

This is a full-time, permanent position at the Stamford campus. Salary will be commensurate with the successful candidate's background and experience. Other rights, terms, and conditions of employment are contained in the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut Professional Employees Association (UCPEA).
