JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Student Disability Resources (SDR) is looking for part-time Educational Assistants for a student who has a mobility impairment taking courses during the Spring 2026 Semester. The individuals hired for this role will assist the student with classroom-based writing and materials organization to ensure access to lecture and classroom information. In addition, they will also assist with completing in homework assignments outside of class. Primary duties include:
Scribe
- Act as a scribe for the student. Handwrite or type content per the student's exact instructions.
Materials Organization
- Finding and organizing in-class materials (e.g., text. PowerPoint slides, problem sets. graphics) for synchronous use with the instructor and class.
- Assisting the student before or after class in meeting with the instructor to get clarification of material and information, as needed.
Other
- Other tasks as assigned by SDR.

- Work schedule and availability: This position requires in-person attendance at scheduled class sessions on the Penn State University Park campus. Final weekly hours will be selected from the options below in consultation with the hiring office, and will remain consistent throughout the semester.

- Lectures
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 10:10 to 11:00 am
- Tuesday and Thursday from 10:35 to 11:50 am
- Monday and Wednesday from 12:20 to 1:10 pm
- Labs
- Tuesday and Thursday from 9:05 to 10:20 am
- Tuesday and Thursday from 12:05 to 1:20 pm
- Friday from 8:00 to 9:55 am
- Able to schedule time outside of class to work on course assignments.
- Able to work an estimated 15 to 20 per week.
- Previous experience working with individuals who have disabilities is preferred but not required.
Additional Notes
- All job-related training will be provided prior to the start of the semester.
- The individual hired for this role is not responsible for individually teaching course material.
