Product Manager Full Description

Job Summary
As a Product Manager, you will manage the development and execution for the assigned product lines — including hardware, software, and SaaS platforms — from concept through launch and ongoing optimization. You’ll serve as the bridge between business strategy, customer needs, and technical execution, ensuring our products deliver meaningful value and contribute to company growth.

This role requires curiosity, strong analytical and organizational skills, and the ability to translate complex technical details into clear user and business benefits. You will work cross-functionally with marketing, sales, engineering, and operations to manage both physical and digital products that support our mission to enhance learning in K–12 education.

NOTE: This position offers a hybrid remote work environment. Applicants must be available to work in the office three days per week, with the option of remote two days per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Planning
  • Manage assigned product lines — hardware, software, or SaaS — to achieve revenue, margin, and adoption goals.
  • Conduct market and user research to identify customer needs, market trends, and opportunities for innovation.
  • Translate business goals and customer insights into clear product requirements and user stories.
  • Define success metrics (KPIs and OKRs) and track product performance to guide continuous improvement.

Software / SaaS Product Management
  • Partner with internal and external technical teams to define specifications, prioritize development and ensure timely delivery of features, updates, and platform enhancements.
  • Participate in sprint planning and review cycles, providing feedback and clarifying requirements.
  • Balance user experience, business priorities, and technical feasibility when making product decisions.
  • Support product testing, quality, and release readiness for web and cloud-based platforms.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to plan and execute go-to-market activities for new digital features or releases.
  • Monitor platform adoption, usage analytics, and user feedback to inform ongoing product improvements.
  • Guide products through key milestones such as MVP, beta testing, and scaled rollout.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Operations to align product plans with business goals.
  • Help create positioning and messaging that clearly communicates value to educators, administrators, and partners.
  • Support the creation of product documentation, demos, and sales tools.
  • Collaborate with vendors and manufacturing partners to ensure delivery and quality standards for hardware products.
  • Contribute to pricing, forecasting, and business case development for new initiatives.

Customer & Market Engagement
  • Gather voice-of-customer insights through interviews, pilot programs, and feedback sessions.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and customer meetings as needed.
  • Maintain awareness of competitive offerings and evolving trends in the education and edtech markets.

Qualifications
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
  • 4+ years of product management or product marketing experience.
  • Experience managing or supporting SaaS/digital products in addition to hardware strongly preferred.
  • Experience in the education, technology, or related markets is a plus.

Technical & Computer Skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with data analysis tools.
  • Experience with product management tools (e.g., Jira, Figma, etc.) and CRM systems preferred.
  • Understanding of software development processes and SaaS delivery models a plus.
  • Familiarity with video production or digital content creation is desirable.

Language Ability
  • Ability to write and present reports, product documentation, and marketing materials effectively.
  • Comfortable presenting to internal stakeholders and external customers.

Reasoning & Mathematical Ability
  • Ability to analyze data and financial metrics to support product decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address varied product and operational challenges.

Physical Demands
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds (e.g., at tradeshows).

Travel Requirements
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 10% of the time.
