This role offers a unique opportunity to help realize our bold product vision by driving the day-to-day execution and delivery of high-impact features that directly serve our university partners.
As a Product Owner, you will report to a Senior Product Manager or Director of Product and serve as a critical link between strategy and execution. - Collaborate closely with Product Managers to understand initiative goals and strategic product priorities.
- Flesh out strategic 'Ideas' by translating them into detailed, well-defined User Stories with clear and testable acceptance criteria, in partnership with engineering.
- Collaborate with your Product Manager to manage, refine, and prioritize the product backlog for one or more agile development teams, ensuring alignment with the overarching product roadmap and PDLC 'Roadmap Lanes.'
- Act as the first line of defense against product issues, conducting initial triage and collaborating with engineering to swiftly integrate validated bugs into the development backlog.
- Collaborate with engineering and design to ensure timely delivery of features, with a focus on quality and value.
- Actively participate in team meetings, representing the customer and product voice to the development team.
- Become a foundational product expert by actively engaging with customers, translating their diverse perspectives into clear, actionable requirements and evolving customer personas.
- Requirements Clarification & Team Enablement:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the development team on all product-related questions, clarifying requirements and resolving ambiguities in a timely manner.
- Ensure the development team has a clear understanding of the 'what' and 'why' behind each User Story, maximizing their ability to execute efficiently.
- Contribute to the 'Definition of Done' for User Stories, ensuring quality and readiness for delivery.
- Roadmap Execution Support:
- Support the execution of the product roadmap by ensuring User Stories and Epics are consistently delivered against defined timelines and quality standards.
- Monitor product metrics post-release and help ensure continuous iteration based on results and feedback.
- Implementation & Value Maximization:
- Support implementations for early-stage products by serving as a product expert, gathering feedback, and clarifying functionality for implementation teams.
- Actively lean in where needed to maximize the value delivered by the product, which may include supporting sales enablement with feature details, contributing to user documentation, or providing internal feature demos.
- Step in where needed to support the product team, flexibly responding to evolving priorities.
- Internal Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders (e.g., Customer Success, Sales, Support) regarding feature details, upcoming releases, and product updates related to the development team's work.
- Gather insights and feedback from internal teams that can inform backlog refinement and future product iterations.
