Professional Development and Inclusivity Specialist

Boies Schiller Flexner LLP is seeking a motivated and highly organized Professional Development & Inclusivity Specialist. This position plays a key role in organizing and advancing initiatives related to associate training, professional growth, and engagement-building efforts. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills and experience managing programs in a professional services environment. This is a hybrid position based out of our Washington, DC or New York City office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinate the Firm’s annual associate development curriculum by partnering with HR, Attorney Recruitment, practice group leaders, and firm leadership to assess training needs and implement tailored programming.
  • Serve as a liaison between attorneys and firm leadership to ensure programming aligns with evolving professional priorities.
  • Manage logistics for workshops and speaker sessions, including Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programming, ensuring a seamless participant experience.
  • Lead meetings of the Federal Diversity Committee (FDC) and support Affinity and Working Groups by setting agendas and tracking progress.
  • Administer and monitor the departmental budget, including sponsorship requests, budget proposals, and spending reports.
  • Collect, analyze, and report engagement and training-related metrics through internal dashboards and external surveys (e.g., AmLaw, MCCA, NAWL, Mansfield, Vault).
  • Collaborate with the Business Development and Communications team to develop and disseminate inclusivity-related content and messaging.
  • Maintain and update training materials, recorded sessions, and resources on the firm’s Intranet.
  • Evaluate programming effectiveness using feedback tools such as surveys and informal input from attorneys, implementing enhancements based on outcomes.
  • Stay informed on trends and emerging best practices by attending relevant conferences and webinars.
  • Support the onboarding experience for new associates by coordinating initial training and integration sessions.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in human resources, education, communications, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in professional development or training, ideally within a legal or professional services environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple programs and projects with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience coordinating training logistics, managing budgets, and working with stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
