The Professional Learning & Development Manager in Risepoint Academic Services leads the design and delivery of scalable, engaging, customer-centric, and future-ready learning experiences and communication strategies for both internal teams and external partners. With a focus on developing and supporting modern faculty competencies and increasing AI fluency, this role ensures our professional learning offerings are responsive, high-impact, and aligned with emerging trends in online education. This role also plays a key part in strategic communications and customer voice, helping shape narratives that amplify ASP’s story, drive adoption, and connect stakeholders to the team’s work.
This role is ideal for a professional who can navigate ambiguity, manage multiple priorities, and create solutions that are responsive, equitable, and built for scale.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Learning Experience Design & Facilitation
- Lead and own the design and delivery of live and asynchronous learning experiences and pathways tailored to modern faculty and partner competencies and needs.
- Facilitate exceptional learning experiences that model and promote Risepoint’s Design Tenets.
- Model effective use of AI in teaching to build foundational AI literacy and inspire instructional innovation.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure implementation of develop tailored, scalable learning experiences for specific university partners and internal ASP teams.
- Incorporate inclusive teaching practices, adult learning theory, and digital pedagogy principles into all designs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Thought Leadership
- Implement and support the design and facilitation of the Risepoint-sponsored faculty Community of Practice, ensuring alignment with the manager’s direction and modeling best practices in engagement, reflection, and peer learning
- Actively gather, synthesize, and share customer voice insights from faculty interactions to inform Professional Learning offerings, product design, and communication strategies.
- Monitor trends in AI, online learning, and faculty development, and surface key implications for internal stakeholders through storytelling and insight briefs. Influence the adoption of trends by university faculty through research-based insights and alignment to university needs.
- Partner with colleagues across Academic Services and other Risepoint teams to ensure alignment between faculty development, product design, and ASP’s broader service model.
- Represent Risepoint in relevant professional networks and conferences, sharing our vision and learning from broader communities of practice in online teaching and learning.
Strategic Communications & Engagement
- Lead the creation and management of faculty-facing communications, including ownership of the external newsletter and piloting new channels (e.g., text, white papers, listserv).”
- “Support cross-functional alignment by socializing new offerings, products, and ideas across Risepoint teams (MDs, Product, Marketing, etc.) to increase visibility and reduce miscommunication.
- Develop and manage communications calendars and messaging assets (newsletter, nudges, storytelling kits, etc.) that increase partner and internal clarity.
- Collaborate with the Risepoint Communications team to ensure message alignment and brand consistency.
Knowledge Platforms & Enablement
- Contribute to the relaunch and maintenance of the faculty-facing website in collaboration with the Senior Strategist.
- Develop high-quality faculty self-service resources (prompt libraries, AI bots/agents, guidance articles, templates, etc.).
- Translate learning experiences into accessible, asynchronous digital formats using the LMS and content management platforms.
Qualifications
Education
- Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum & Instruction, Adult Learning, or related field or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- 6+ years of experience in instructional design, faculty development, or learning & development.
- Experience designing scalable learning programs using modern tools and methods.
- Strong facilitation and communication skills with the ability to connect to diverse audiences and a demonstrated strength in storytelling, audience-focused communication, and content strategy.
- Experience with AI tools for education and productivity and a strong interest in shaping their application in teaching, learning, and operations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with precision and purpose in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Preferred:
- Experience with WordPress or similar CMS platforms (Elementor preferred).
- Working knowledge of Quality Matters, OLC, and WCAG standards.
- Experience as a university instructional designer, faculty member, or course facilitator in online/blended modalities.
Travel Requirements
- Ability to travel up to 20% of time
