Job Summary/Basic Function: The Program Manager of the Master of Science in Pharmacology and Toxicology at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine manages various aspects of the program, including student recruitment, admissions, advising, marketing, alumni initiatives, external partnerships, and learning platforms. The role involves directing a research and training MS program for graduate students, overseeing program staff, and collaborating with university departments to enhance the program. The director is responsible for implementing department and graduate program policies, supervising admissions and advisory committees, and managing a substantial program budget. Additionally, the director oversees program reviews, coordinates semester conversion tasks, and chairs the semester transition committee.
Minimum Qualifications |
Minimum QualificationsA Master’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience.· Experience should be in student or academic function or comparable field.· Leadership experience· Ability to generate and supervise other sources of revenue for the department (work with department accountant).· Ability to work effectively across a diverse group of people including students, faculty, administration, and external personnel.· Ability to absorb large amounts of detailed information and to operate in a context with multiple variables and solutions with minimal guidance.· Strong problem-solving skills under demanding time pressures.· Excellent attention to detail and the ability to think strategically.· Ability to share ideas and convent them in an efficient manner.· Ability to effectively communicate, both verbal and written, and other employees as well as both advise and coach graduate students.· Demonstrated record of collaboration, complex problem solving, and adaptability.· Ability to perform varied tasks concurrently, to set appropriate priorities, to work independently and interdependently, and to bring projects to a closure.· Proficient compute software skills, to include MS Office, Adobe, and university packages or ability to quickly learn.

Essential Functions and percent of time: |
(40%) Student Recruitment, Admissions, and Advising· Maintain responsibility and support the coordination and implementation of recruitment efforts and initiatives for the program.· Recruit a targeted number of qualified students under the direction of the department chair, both nationally and international. Implement a variety of recruitment plans and strategies to recruit, admit, and retain a talented and diverse student population to ensure sustainability of program.· In collaboration with assistant director, serve as the first point of contact for prospective students on all aspects of the program including admissions information, financial aid, tuition payments, and direct prospective students to the appropriate office and/or administrator, when needed.· Design and deliver face-to-face and virtual information sessions for prospective students.· Coordinate the admission process including working directly with the School of Graduate Studies, department chair, assistant director, and department staff.· Develop the admissions and student databases and supervise and train staff on database updates.· Work with the Vice Chair on policies for admission and academic standards, oversee admissions and advisory committees.· Continue to upkeep and maintain the admissions and student databases.
(20%) Business Development and External Relations · Promote the program at industry events, site visits, and professional association meetings.· Recruit and coordinate industry participation in the program including capstone project sponsorship, guest speakers, and residency participation.· Develop and maintain a database of industry contacts for recruitment of prospective students, capstone project sponsorships, industry speakers, and other program participations. Supervise and train staff on database updates.· Serve as primary contact for industry groups and economic development and government agencies such as Dayton Technology First and the Association for Information Systems.· Coordinate program participation in industry and university-based supply chain consortiums and supervise submission of national and international program rankings.· Develop and continue an alumni database, supervise and train staff on updates.· Continue and coordinate alumni engagement initiatives.· Organize webinars, seminars, and events related to the program.· Provide program reviews at monthly faculty meetings.

(20%) Learning Technology Development and Coordination· Manage online course sites including designing platform, uploading files, communication modes, and maintaining program calendar.· Coordinate with program faculty to ensure consistency across all courses.· Provide student training on learning technology platforms.· Serve as the primary contact person for technology problems and communicate problems and resolutions to students on a timely basis.· Benchmark other online MS programs technology platforms to identify emerging technologies and pedagogical approaches.· May supervise graduate student assistants and student employees.
(20%) Marketing Development and Coordination· Coordinate the design and production of a quarterly newsletter and targeted email campaigns.· Maintain program web site.· Coordinate the development of promotional material and disseminate materials to appropriate target markets.· Point of contact for marketing, college website, and social media. Collaborate with Marketing and Communications Department to develop and maintain specialized recruitment materials, publications, and outreach website for general recruitment.· Coordinate with the college administration to manage the college marketing budget.
