Posting Context Statement | The EcosySTEM Program Manager provides strategic leadership and statewide oversight for the Idaho STEM Ecosystem (EcosySTEM), a cross-sector initiative focused on advancing equitable, high-quality STEM education and career-connected learning across Idaho. This position serves as the primary statewide point of contact for the EcosySTEM, guiding vision, strategy, and implementation in close collaboration with statewide and national partners. Operating under the direction of the Associate Dean and Director of the University of Idaho Extension in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, the Program Manager works to ensure that EcosySTEM initiatives are aligned with state and national education and workforce priorities.
Position Overview | This position supports the planning and completion of educational, outreach or professional programs; working with program staff, students, the public and/or agencies, to plan and oversee program activities. May lead a distinct area for the program such as outreach, assessment or financial management.
Duties may include: Participate in the development and implementation of program deliverables, services and activities Coordinate a team with a variety array of talents and responsibilities Collect, compile and summarize program data for reports Participate in developing program operating goals, objectives and protocols Maintain program budgets, monitoring and reviewing transactions for compliance with program requirements Active participation in the development and submission of program proposals Lead collection and compilation of program assessment data May supervise the work of others or lead a team to accomplish assigned goals Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications
Required Experience | Two years of program coordination or program management experience Working in a team environment to accomplish shared goals Collecting, compiling, summarizing and analyzing data for administrative reports
Required Education | Bachelor’s Degree; four additional years of experience in program coordination (for a total of six years) may substitute for a Bachelor’s Degree
Required Other | Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving university-owned vehicles Ability and willingness to travel frequently within the region and occasionally statewide; attendance at a minimum of one national conference annually is expected Must reside within the regions they coordinate
Additional Preferred | Bachelor’s degree in business management, education, public relations, or a related field Extensive experience in STEM education, workforce development, and community engagement, including deep involvement with the STEM Learning Ecosystems Community of Practice and other national STEM networks Proven success in grant writing and fundraising, including writing high-value proposals, securing funding from federal, foundation, corporate, gifts, and sponsorship sources and managing large externally funded projects to completion Experienced in managing internal grant-making processes, including creating and implementing policies, procedures, infrastructure, and maintaining/updating grant portals and platforms such as Hivebrite for content development and engagement Strong financial oversight skills, including budget management, fiscal responsibility, and financial transparency, in support of sustainable organizational growth Skilled at working in dynamic, fast-paced environments, balancing multiple priorities, and driving impact through strategic project and program execution
