 Overview:
 We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Programmer Analyst to support and optimize our Financial Aid System and related IT operations. This role requires technical proficiency, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience with operating systems, IT methodologies, and system administration and lead efforts in automation, observability, and platform reliability for our financial aid management system.
 
 Key Responsibilities:
 • System Support: Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance the Financial Aid System, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with regulations.
 • Technical Analysis & Implementation: Learn business functions to effectively participate in technical analysis, design construction, and implementation of IT solutions.
 • Coding & Development:
 ◦ Develop and implement technical solutions using a structured approach, ensuring long-term maintainability and accessibility.
 ◦ Utilize scripting languages (Bash/Shell script, SQL, PL/SQL, Python) to automate tasks, reduce manual intervention, and improve efficiency.
 ◦ Enhance monitoring, alerting, and observability to detect issues early and maintain system reliability.
 ◦ Knowledge of COBOL, Tomcat, and web services is a plus but not required.
 • Testing & Quality Assurance:
 ◦ Test coded solutions against customer acceptance criteria to ensure high-quality application performance.
 ◦ Troubleshoot and resolve system defects in a timely manner.
 ◦ Leverage AI tools for system testing and solution design.
 • Documentation & Compliance:
 ◦ Maintain consistent and accurate documentation for all application projects, including new developments and maintenance.
 ◦ Ensure documentation is complete, understandable, and accessible for future reference.
 • Communication & Collaboration:
 ◦ Establish and maintain a productive working relationship with end-users and internal/external stakeholders.
 ◦ Participate in system review sessions and product strategy discussions.
 ◦ Report status updates to project leadership, manager, and director.
 ◦ Attend weekly team meetings and contribute to knowledge-sharing efforts.
 • Financial Aid Process Understanding:
 ◦ Ability to read financial aid rules and regulations and translate them into system processes.
 ◦ Support the integration of business logic into IT solutions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
 • Other Duties as assigned: Support additional IT initiatives and projects as needed.

 • Education:
 ◦ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
 • Experience:

 ◦ Experience supporting ProSAM or similar financial aid solutions is a plus.
