Posting Summary  | Oversee a range of facilities management projects, from small renovations and plant improvement/deferred maintenance projects to complex construction projects. Coordinate cost estimates as needed for relocations, renovations, facility improvements and capital equipment replacement. Supervise external consultants and contractors, coordinate and communicate all phases of projects to University user groups, service providers and design and construction management personnel to form a project. Ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Organize active projects within each phase. Provide in field monitoring progress of activities and schedule. Ensure the most efficient use of all resources (internal and external labor). Provide technical assistance for outside contracted services. Enforce contract requirements while working with campus partners to keep projects within budget and on schedule. Promote a workplace which encourages safety within the field. This position works within a broader division that has a universal commitment to workplace diversity and inclusion, environmental sustainability and delivering exceptional customer service.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)  | Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management or construction technology and a minimum of two years’ experience working as a superintendent, or construction/field coordinator or manager on capital projects. Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain, and driver’s check required.
Ability to communicate effectively and contribute as part of a team. Must possess organizational skills and knowledge of the design and construction process project process; specifically, the proper use and applications of construction methods and materials. Familiar with project management software (i.e. Microsoft Project or Procore), other computer software applications including spreadsheets, word processing, and drawing review software such as Bluebeam. Familiarity with AIA construction contracts, and typical processes for requests for information, change orders, OSHA requirements, dispute resolution, and estimating.Effective organizational skills are necessary to coordinate multiple construction projects concurrently. Demonstrated ability to organize and communicate with others in a team environment and communicate effectively with key constituents.
