Description
Reporting to the Dean of Graduate Admission, the Recruitment Coordinator serves as an on-campus liaison for prospective graduate students and families. This position requires the use of independent judgement in planning and prioritizing a diversified workload, reflective of a vast number of graduate program offerings.
 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Provides initial advisement to prospective graduate students on next steps in the admission process, including program-specific application submission instructions across 200+ degree program options.
  • Oversees key projects such as researching competitor graduate programs, ensuring program websites reflect current processes, coordinating with project stakeholders, and maintaining suspect and influencer lead-source lists.
  • Offers back-up territory management support to counselors, including initial application review, proactive outreach to applicants, and evaluation of eligibility for graduate study (e.g., assessing degree equivalencies, institutional accreditation, and other minimum requirements).
  • Supports event promotion efforts by executing outreach campaigns and collecting/analyzing attendee feedback to inform planning for on-campus and virtual events throughout the application cycle.
  • Maintains onboarding procedures for new staff and assists in documenting and updating office policies and procedures.
  • Compiles, reviews, and analyzes graduate visitor data to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Completes special projects and routine office duties as assigned.
  • Performs other related duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum one year experience in an office environment.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be a creative problem solver.
  • Customer service oriented and possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Extensive computing experience and demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience supporting students within higher education preferred.

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
