Job Description
The purpose of this position is to recruit prospective students and to promote Texas State in the Houston area. The Houston Regional Admissions Counselor participates in all aspects of recruitment, both in the Houston area and on campus.

Expected activities include but are not limited to visits to high schools and community colleges, presentations, admissions events, and communication with students, parents, and counselors.

The Houston Regional Admissions Counselor position requires excellent oral and written communication skills as well as exceptional interpersonal skills.

The Houston Regional Admissions Counselor must reside in the Houston area.
Job Duties
The characteristics and responsibilities of the ideal Houston Regional Admissions Counselor include but are not limited to:

  • Communicating and establishing relationships with prospective students, parents, and counselors
  • Preparing recruitment reports
  • Other duties as assigned
