Job Summary
Research Data Analyst

Responsibilities
Research Data Analyst
  • Execute intermediate-level data analyses, including regression and multivariate methods, to inform research objectives.
  • Proficient in the use of software including REDCap, R, Python, SAS, or SPSS to manipulate data, create visualizations, and generate summaries.
  • Write significant portions of research reports and contribute to study designs by advising on data collection and analysis methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data aligns with project goals.
  • Review business requirements given on assignment or may gather requirements and seek clarification from end users for straightforward analytical tasks.
  • Document methods used and analyses performed as necessary.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior data analysts or PI for further action.
  • Develop moderately advanced analytical and reporting tools.
  • Follow standard procedures for analytical and reporting tool development.
  • Support reporting and decision-making.
  • Integrate data from one or multiple sources into analytical tools.
  • Provide technical support on customized analytics and reporting tools.

Work is expected to be done autonomously with overall guidance and direction from leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:

Research Data Analyst I: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master’s (or equivalency) degree.

Research Data Analyst II: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.

Research Data Analyst III:
Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.

Research Data Analyst IV: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 8 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 6 years of directly related work experience.

Research Data Analyst V: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 10 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 8 years of directly related work experience.
Preferences
Masters degree preferred.
High level of experience in observational research, clinical trials, and data visualization.
