Overview:
The Research Systems Analyst will partner with Research Computing team leads to understand current reporting tools, methods, and metrics for compute node & storage usage and performance. They will be responsible for analyzing this information in order to identify trends, discover potential inefficiencies, and recommend solutions for process improvements, workflow adjustments, and data warehousing. This is a temporary summer position with approximate start and end dates of June 3 and August 2.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze existing reporting processes for research computing metrics including but not limited to user demographics, researcher engagement, support tickets, computational hours/usage, data movement performance, storage utilization, training, sponsors, and cluster contributions.
- Collaborate with Research Computing team leads to gather requirements for data retrieval process enhancements and metrics automation.
- Effectively communicate findings and recommend solutions for process improvement, including technology implementation, workflow adjustments, and data analysis.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Preferred experience with Linux, API, data visualization, HTTPS, and JSON would be helpful.
