Job Description
Reporting to the VP of Sales, the Proposal Specialist will be responsible for response strategy and delivery of formal bids at Paper. This team is growing fast, this is a critical role in enabling the business to achieve continued growth.

Responsibilities
  • Create compliant and persuasive winning proposals demonstrating Paper’s value and strengths in a competitive bid process
  • Develop comprehensive proposal responses, taking responsibility for the quality, accuracy, and integrity of final responses
  • Manage multiple RFPs/RFIs/RFQs from when they come in through submission and follow ups
  • Coordinate and review/edit proposal input from contributors such as sales, marketing, product, legal, finance, and customer success
  • Coach contributors in persuasive writing and proposal best practices
  • Help manage proposal content
  • Participate in continuous improvement and feedback sessions on proposals and process
  • Uphold and embody Paper’s mission, vision, and values
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, sales teams, and other stakeholders to collect necessary information and data
  • Write and edit proposal content, ensuring it is clear, concise, persuasive, and tailored to address the client's specific needs and concerns
  • Ensure that the proposal follows any specified formatting guidelines and adheres to the organization's branding and style standards
  • Establish proposal timelines, manage deadlines, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of the proposal
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and client preferences to incorporate relevant information into proposals
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure the final document is of the highest quality

Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in proposal coordination/bid management
  • Strong proficiency in project management/bid management
  • Must have strong reading comprehension and attention to detail
  • Must be resourceful and a self-starter—what will you do with your autonomy
  • Comfortable working in large, remote teams
  • Comfortable with proposal collaboration/automation software (e.g. Ombud, RFPIO, Loopio, Qvidian, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong writing and proofreading skills
  • Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills 
  • APMP Certified Foundation (preferred)
  • Background/experience in education or ed-tech field (preferred)

The annual salary range for this position varies by level:
  • IC2 (developing): $69,000-$82,000 USD
  • IC3 (experienced): $85,000 USD / $101,500 CAD

The level offered will be determined based on experience and performance throughout the interview process. Please note that the final offer amount is also influenced by geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above.
