Job Description 
Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance.

The Scholarship Assistant provides administrative and project support to the Scholarship Office by assisting with in-person visits, answering phones and emails, responding to student inquiries, and escalating more complex student issues to the Scholarship Manager. This role plays a key part in maintaining organized records, supporting scholarship processing and payments, and ensuring accurate and timely administrative operations. The position helps ensure students receive timely information and support related to scholarship opportunities and processes.

The Scholarship Assistant provides essential administrative and project support to the Scholarship Office. This role serves as a key point of contact for students, assisting with in-person visits, phone and email inquiries, and providing accurate information about scholarship opportunities and processes.

The position plays a vital role in maintaining organized records, supporting scholarship processing and payments, and ensuring efficient day-to-day operations. Complex student concerns are escalated to the Scholarship Manager as needed.

Key Responsibilities
Provide front-line customer service by assisting students in person, by phone, and via email with scholarship inquiries, including navigating funding through the Student Information System (SIS). Support the processing of approximately 1,000 scholarship applications annually using the Scholarship Lifecycle Manager (SLM). Conduct eligibility reviews (e.g., mid-year checks) to ensure recipients meet ongoing scholarship requirements. Maintain accurate, organized digital and physical records for scholarship applications, awards, agreements, and payments. Review and process scholarship documentation, including agreements, payment requests, reimbursements, and emergency grant/loan materials. Enter and manage data across systems and coordinate information sharing with internal partners, including the Financial Aid and Business Offices. Assist with administrative coordination of scholarship operations, including tracking deadlines, documentation, and workflows. Support outreach and engagement efforts by participating in on-campus and off-campus events and contributing to donor stewardship activities.

KSA's/Required Qualifications  | Minimum Qualifications Working knowledge of administrative and office support procedures. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) and internet-based systems, with the ability to learn new technologies. High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional Considerations  | Preferred Qualifications Experience maintaining records or managing data in spreadsheets or databases. Familiarity with student information systems or scholarship management platforms.
