Department Summary

The Office of Admissions is a vital contributor to the enrollment success at the University of North Texas through student outreach, recruitment endeavors, and a commitment to providing personalized assistance to students throughout the college application and admissions process.

Position Overview

The Office of Admissions, at the University of North Texas, is seeking to hire a Senior Admissions Recruiter to assist in recruiting and admissions functions, under the direction of the Associate Director, Admissions Recruitment.

This position will oversee student employees and is responsible for developing full-time personnel on the recruitment. This position is critical in implementing strategic initiatives from Admissions leadership. Work involves, but is not limited to; local travel, counseling and guidance of applicants for admissions, and rendering of directional services to high school and colleges in the Dallas/Fort-Worth area with the possibility of occasional overnight, in and out of state travel.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in recruiting, academic advising, academic counseling, student services, or related experience or can substitute education for experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Strong presentation skills and problem solving skills.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills.
* Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
* Experience with Microsoft Office Products.
* Ability to obtain credit card for travel.
* Possession of valid driver's license, good driving record, and access to a vehicle.
* Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
* Professional in appearance, motivated, self-directed, and have the ability and willingness to communicate enthusiastically with diverse populations in a positive, courteous, and professional manner.
* Ability to work evenings and weekends.
* Willingness to travel (may be extensive).

* Master's degree in related field of higher education, student services, counseling, or related field.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multiple projects.

Job Duties

  • Participate in recruitment networking efforts and maintain strong relationships with strategic on and off campus partners to successfully execute recruitment events. 
  • Assist in the recording and reporting of recruitment event attendance and yield data to measure effectiveness of programs. 
  • Track and report statistical data to measure the effectiveness of activities throughout recruitment territories. 
  • Assist with strategic planning for recruitment of first-time in college, transfer, or graduate prospects. 
  • Connect prospective students with university resources to ensure successful transition. 
  • Implement and assess comprehensive student recruitment strategies and programs to improve student engagement. 
  • Develops and refines recruitment resources, processes, and tools. 
  • Coach recruitment employees through processes to engage students in their respective territories. 
  • Review academic credentials of students to determine the eligibility of applicants per official university admissions policies and state guidelines. 
  • Complete expected duties in a timely manner, without constant supervision, accept responsibility for own work, and follow through on commitments. 
  • Complete assigned trainings and other administrative requirements punctually and follow procedures for timekeeping, absences, and attendance.
