Job Summary  | Manages, monitors and reconciles University and departmental financial activity. Supports development and administration of the annual budget and reporting, assisting in interpreting Cleveland State University policies, procedures and strategic goals, preparing planning documents and entering data into the planning system. Supports continuous improvement efforts to increase the University’s ability to retrieve timely and accurate financial analyses. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications  | Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting or related field, or four (4) years equivalent combination of education, training or experience Four (4) years progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance or budget administration Prior experience working with Peoplesoft, Oracle or similar ERP system

Preferred Qualifications  | Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Masters Business Administration (MBA) or advanced degree in accounting or finance Budget experience with an institution of higher education

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)  | Experience with interpretation and application of current U.S. generally accepted accounting standards. Works collaboratively with others to support improvements, streamline and standardize reports and procedures to gain efficiencies and mitigate waste. Critical thinker with strong analytical, demonstrated problem solving skills, and ability to manage ambiguity. Demonstrated passion, idealism, positive attitude, mission driven and self-directed. Possesses a high level of personal and professional ethics and integrity. Must have excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to prepare and present leadership-ready comprehensive documents in multiple formats (e.g. executive summaries, presentations, workbooks, memos, etc.). Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel (advanced knowledge), Access, Outlook and PowerPoint.
