Job Overview:
The Senior Manager, IT Program Management leads the IT Strategic Governance and Delivery Office (SGDO) and is responsible for overseeing the IT portfolio of projects aligned to business goals. This role focuses on ensuring service delivery quality, and aligning IT projects with business priorities. The Senior Manager will drive cross-functional teams to deliver technology projects, streamline workflows, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role manages, coaches and develops a team of six people to drive value through project delivery.
Job Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership and Governance
- Oversee the portfolio, prioritizing initiatives based on business value and resource availability.
- Act as a change agent to implement and manage processes and projects across the IT organization.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal clients, by collaborating with senior executives to devise and implement strategies.
- Project Planning and Delivery
- Lead the planning and execution of multiple IT projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Utilize project management (PM) methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, SAFe, Agile, Waterfall) to guide teams through the project lifecycle.
- Lead regular assessments to understand client needs and expectations, while addressing and resolving internal client issues promptly and effectively.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Establish metrics, internal operational level agreements (OLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate performance and project delivery quality, driving continuous improvement efforts.
- Facilitate process improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Agile.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with IT leadership, business units, and stakeholders to ensure processes and projects meet their needs and support strategic objectives.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation to encourage process improvement across teams.
Job Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in IT process, project and business relationship management.
- Exceptional understanding of IT and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proven knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, Monday, Trello).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and drive change.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience in breaking down, comparing and evaluating various courses of action and making autonomous decisions on matters of significance, within the scope of responsibilities.
