Team Overview
Our Information Technology (IT) team leads all aspects of IT systems and processes across the enterprise, including data services, security, compliance, applications, automation, and end-user services. Through innovative and streamlined technology solutions, this dynamic team enables company growth​, protects data, and serves as a critical partner to all departments of PowerSchool. 

Responsibilities: 
The Enterprise Data & Integration Architect is responsible for defining and owning the enterprise architecture that governs how data moves across systems, where it is stored, how it is governed, and how it is consumed for analytics, operations, and AI. This role establishes standards and reference architectures across integration platforms, data warehousing/lakehouse, and governance tooling to ensure a scalable, secure, and well-documented data ecosystem.

This is a senior, hands-on architecture role that combines strategic design with practical technical depth.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
Enterprise Integration Architecture
  • Own the enterprise integration architecture across ERP, CRM, HR, and SaaS systems.
  • Define integration patterns using middleware (e.g., Boomi), including batch, near-real-time, and event-driven designs.
  • Establish standards for error handling, logging, monitoring, retry logic, and performance.
  • Provide architectural oversight for large integration initiatives (e.g., Workday implementations).
Data Platform Architecture
  • Own the target-state data platform architecture using Microsoft Fabric and related Azure services.
  • Define landing zone patterns, transformation layers, and modeling standards.
  • Ensure data ingestion pipelines align with enterprise integration patterns.
  • Partner with engineering teams on scalable, cost-effective designs.
Data Governance Architecture
  • Define the enterprise data governance framework and operating model.
  • Establish data domains, ownership, stewardship, and metadata standards.
  • Lead implementation of governance tooling (e.g., Microsoft Purview) including lineage, catalog, and classification.
  • Ensure governance is embedded into platform and integration design.
Standards, Documentation, and Enablement
  • Create and maintain reference architectures, standards, and design guidelines.
  • Provide architecture reviews for new integrations and data initiatives.
  • Enable engineering and analytics teams through templates, patterns, and documentation.
Strategic Partnership
  • Partner with business and technology leaders to align architecture with enterprise priorities.
  • Influence roadmap decisions related to integrations, data platforms, analytics, and AI.
 
Qualifications: 
Minimum Qualifications
  • 12+ years in data architecture, integration architecture, or platform architecture roles.
  • Strong experience designing enterprise integrations using iPaaS or middleware (Boomi or similar).
  • Strong experience with data warehousing / lakehouse architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft data platforms (Fabric, Synapse, SQL, Power BI, or similar).
  • Experience implementing data governance frameworks and metadata tools (Purview or similar).
  • Advanced SQL skills.
  • Working knowledge of at least one scripting/programming language (Python preferred).
  • Experience with APIs, REST, JSON, and data transformation pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in SaaS or product-based organizations.
  • Familiarity with cloud security, identity, and access patterns.
  • Experience supporting analytics and AI initiatives with curated, governed datasets.

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $125,200 - $156,500 USD. This compensation range is specific to the United States and it incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
