Description

Position Summary
The Senior Training Developer will develop and lead global initiatives and projects to contribute to the success of Americas Commercial Operations for Healthcare. This role will act as subject matter expert and leverage both practical prior experience and learning and development knowledge to assess, design, develop, implement, facilitate, measure, and transform learning and development solutions. The Senior Training Developer will maintain classroom, virtual classroom, and self-paced training content using instructional design and rapid development strategies across multiple modalities.

The Senior Training Developer is responsible for leading training design and development projects that will enhance learning solutions ecosystem. In this highly collaborative role, they will work closely with department leaders, subject matter experts, and learners to ensure that our training programs cross functionally support the needs of our growing business through the application of learner centric design methods. Focusing on user experience and design thinking strategies, they will create engaging, relevant eLearning courses, resources, and learning experiences. The Senior Specialist will lead improvements through Lean principles, create consistent, repeatable business procedures and processes and implement project management protocol with measurable results to drive high Customer satisfaction and profitability. The Senior Training Developer will deploy, reinforce, and maintain a culture of Lean to promote continuous improvement sustaining operational excellence.

This is a hybrid position. The team meets at our Mentor OH office on Tuesday and Wednesday each week. 

Duties
  • Serve as learning experience process lead for global leadership and employee development programs across Americas Commercial Operations for Healthcare
  • Design and develop learning and development solutions
  • Identify and manage multiple training design and development project workflows, from initiation to closure, to integrate instructional design and the development of blended and self-paced interactive programs into the training program
  • Drive project timelines, action plans, task analysis, and evaluation methodology
  • Utilize appropriate eLearning tools and software to transfer process and performance knowledge into an eLearning methodology
  • Design, develop, and author engaging and interactive instructional materials that include assessments and process simulations leveraging a variety of tools and applications, including, audio, video, animation, webinars, and simulations  
  • Develop effective assessments and measurements for learning experiences  
  • Design and develop materials to support both facilitators and participants in instructor-led, STERIS University, and blended training programs
  • Consult with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify job tasks, process, soft skills, knowledge, and performance gaps
  • Strategically extricate and assimilate chunks of information working them into a logical framework, applying principles of adult learning theory and behavioral sciences
  • Recommends appropriate solutions and delivery methods to optimize skill development, behavior changes, and learner absorption
  • Oversee the day-to-day maintenance of the Learning Management System (LMS); including,  managing enrollments, troubleshooting issues, maintaining the course catalog, and reporting
  • Leverage data driven insights to inform the development and design of training programs
  • Recommend development opportunities for creative learning solutions to create a blended learning environment, leveraging multiple modalities
  • Ensure training program promotes a culture of continuous improvement by implementing standard lean training based on career progression, preparatory training for lean event participation, and training for KPI management.
  • Leverages process understanding and value based prioritization to initiate continuous improvement opportunities that maximize training programs efficiency and effectiveness for supported businesses
  • Participates in process improvement initiatives and Kaizen events as needed, acting as the lead in documenting the new process and standard work
  • Research L&D industry trends, methodologies, and best practices to increase effectiveness
  • Revise training content as needed based on feedback and changing organizational goals

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, adult education, organizational development, educational technology, or instructional design/learning design
  • 8 years experience in a professional setting
  • Preferred experienced in following areas/disciplines:  
    • Process development
    • Establishing and sustaining standard work
    • Developing and implementing process improvements
    • Project management
    • Participant in kaizen events to drive continuous improvement
    • Conducting training and creating training course content
  • Knowledge of Instructional System Design methodologies used in technical course and curriculum development
  • 2 years of experience in the creation of training programs  
  • 2 years of experience using an authoring tool
  • 2 years of experience in staging solutions using a Learning Management Systems (LMS)

Preferred: 
  • Storyline 360 experience preferred
  • Experience in staging solutions using SuccessFactors LMS preferred

Pay range for this opportunity is $79,687.50 - $98,437.50. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
