Position Summary/Job Duties:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Associate/ Shift Leader to join our retail team. This role combines leadership responsibilities with direct sales activities, ensuring smooth store operations, exceptional customer service, and effective team management. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, sales expertise, and managerial experience to foster a positive shopping environment and drive store success.

Duties

  • Assist customers with product inquiries, demonstrate excellent customer service, and resolve issues promptly
  • Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to optimize product presentation
  • Oversee POS transactions, cash handling, and cashiering duties with accuracy
  • Conduct employee orientation, training & development sessions, and participate in interviewing potential team members
  • Handle purchasing decisions, pricing strategies, and store merchandising to maximize sales opportunities
  • Maintain organized records of payroll, bookkeeping, budgeting, and administrative tasks
  • Implement marketing initiatives to promote store products and increase customer engagement
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards while fostering a positive work environment
  • Lead and supervise daily store operations, including shift management and staff coordination

Qualifications

  • Experience in retail settings with supervisory responsibilities being a bonus
  • Strong sales management skills learned in school or on the job training, including sales, retail math, and inventory management
  • Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus
  • Demonstrated leadership in team management, training & development, and employee supervision
  • Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management software, and basic bookkeeping tools
  • Experience in merchandising, stocking, marketing, and retail operations including shift management
  • Ability to handle cash handling accurately and perform retail math calculations effectively
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
  • Knowledge of wireless sales or grocery store operations is advantageous
  • High level of professionalism with phone etiquette and customer service excellence
  • Organizational skills complemented by time management expertise and attention to detail

Physical Demands
