Advertising/Posting Title | Small Business Advocate
Posting Summary | Serve as an integral part of the Attorney General’s Consumer Assistance Program (CAP) and Small Business Initiative (SBI) to provide support to businesses seeking assistance with questions about Vermont’s legal requirements of businesses and assist in resolving complaints. Coordinate and implement services, programs, and educational projects with a focus on supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs. Maintain connection with the business community, statewide, to foster communication about Vermont’s legal environment for small businesses. May seek grants and other funding opportunities for supporting additional services.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) | Bachelor’s degree in business, political science, education or a related field and two years’ related experience required. Effective oral and written communications skills, including some experience with using social media for outreach, required.
Desirable Qualifications | Experience creating outreach strategies and building relationships, particularly with the business community, such as campaign or development highly desirable. Experience using social media for marketing, outreach, or campaigns is highly desirable.
Anticipated Pay Range | $52,000 to $56,000

Special Conditions | Bargaining unit position, Contingent on continued funding, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, A probationary period may be required, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position
