 Position Description 
Advertised Job Summary  | The School of Medicine Greenville is seeking to hire a Social Media & Creative Content Specialist to join our team. The Social Media & Creative Content Specialist is part of the team responsible for the marketing and communications for the School of Medicine Greenville. The main duties will include managing social media strategy and creative content to meet the goals set by the Director of Communications. With oversight of social media strategy, this position will manage the social media calendar for all SOMG accounts, create content specific for social media, and work with internal stakeholders on social media needs. This position will also oversee creative content, including graphic design, video editing, and photography, to ensure University of South Carolina brand standards are met.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience  | Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications  | Bachelor’s degree and at least 3-5 years of professional experience in a client-facing communications, marketing or public relations role. Proficiency in graphic design and video editing tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.).


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities  | Knowledge in social media platforms. Understanding of the digital landscape and a proven interest in keeping up to date with developments in social platforms and applications. Verbal and written communication skills. Skills in Adobe Creative Suite and other web-based design software.
