Job Overview:
The Merchandising Team owns a large portion of Coursera's discovery experience. Our teams are responsible for maintaining a scalable and reliable platform, in addition to building interactive products for the worldwide learner community. The role will also requires collaboration with product, design and marketing teams, to scope and implement new features and improvements across Coursera’s platform.
Responsibilities:
- Work with a range of internal teams to evaluate and automate complex systems
- Create tools that accelerate program onboarding, reduce manual work, reduce error rates
- Enhance existing tooling and workflows to make them safer and less error-prone
- Build easy to use and intuitive UI to maximize the efficiency of use
- Design and develop integrations with external vendor tools
- Develop tools to scale Coursera’s ability to provide high-quality support to our learners and partners
- Ensure you follow best software development practices including but not limited to unit testing, code reviews and documentation
- Communicate with ease (both written and oral) to all levels of the organization
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors in computer science or relevant experience
- 3+ years of experience in the core technologies of the web: Javascript, HTML, and CSS, experience in at least one modern UI framework (e.g. AngularJS, ReactJS, etc), and experience in building large-scale web applications
- Proficiency in implementing responsive web designs and writing FE unit and integration tests
- Fervent belief in engineering quality and building technical leverage for others
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving team environment (we deploy many times a day!)
- Data-driven and strongly motivated by success and learnings through experiments and metrics analysis

Compensation:
Coursera offers competitive pay and equitable compensation practices. Our job titles may span more than one career level. The targeted hiring base salary range for this role is between $113,600-170,400 CAD for all Canada candidates. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to prior work experiences, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, and geographical location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for variable pay, equity, and benefits.
