Job Description Summary & Additional Information

 The Graduate Assistant for Finance and Administration will support the School of Public Health's Finance and Administration Team with their daily operations. This position will be responsible for:
  • Managing the shared Finance email and calendar
  • Collecting, compiling, and organizing data
  • Researching and finalizing procurement requests
  • Assisting with the daily business operations
  • Providing support to other SPH units as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, time management, and communication (both oral and written) skills are essential as well as a strong commitment to customer service. Must be detail-oriented, disciplined, trustworthy, and have excellent judgment.
 
Education:
This position is only available to current University of Maryland, College Park graduate students

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
 
Preferences:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Accounting, or a related field
  • Experience in creating and maintaining databases
  • Experience with account reconciliation
  • Knowledge of University accounting
