SR Financial Aid Specialist Remote Advisor Full Description

Overview: 

The Sr. Financial Aid Specialist Remote Advisor plays a pivotal role in supporting campuses experiencing front-end staffing vacancies or operational challenges. Working in a fully remote capacity, this role advises and educates students on the financial aid process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of grant, loan, and scholarship applications. The specialist provides exceptional customer service and ensures compliance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines. This role requires adaptability to varying campus programs and state-specific regulations and reports to the Corporate Financial Aid leadership team. Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct remote financial aid packaging appointments for assigned campuses
  • Provide new and prospective students with comprehensive financial aid advising during campus tours
  • Assist students in completing the FAFSA, Master Promissory Note, and applications for Federal Stafford, Unsubsidized, PLUS, SEOG, and Perkins loans
  • Utilize NSLDS to review prior loan statuses for new students
  • Conduct entrance and exit counseling per Title IV regulations
  • Accurately complete financial aid packaging for re-entry and continuing students
  • Manage exception reports for campuses lacking on-site staff support
  • Ensure compliance with Concorde policies and procedures as well as all applicable Federal financial aid regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

 Qualifications: 

  • HS Diploma/GED (required)
  • Associate degree in business or other related field (preferred)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Financial Aid Advisor (required)
  • Must be a fast learner and adapt quickly to campus and state-specific regulatory differences
  • High attention to detail with strong comprehension of complex processes
  • Advanced knowledge of financial aid processes, regulations, and systems
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and remotely while meeting tight deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Familiarity with CampusNexus operating system
  • Able and willing to:
