Staff Attorney Full Description

WGU is hiring a Staff Attorney to provide legal services to a large, technically adept conglomerate of nonprofit entities, working with university and Office of General Counsel (OGC) leaders to support WGU's mission to improve quality and expand access to post-secondary education.

Job duties:

Provide legal research, analysis, and project support on issues including intellectual property, student affairs, privacy, employment, and regulatory compliance
Draft and review contracts for a variety of business transactions, ensuring alignment with university standards
Evaluate and draft responses and legal memoranda on specific questions of law
Manage multiple concurrent legal matters, providing timely responses to inquiries

Minimum qualifications: Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school; licensed (or admissible within one year of the position start date) to practice law in Utah; and up to 3 years of experience in active legal practice or related experience.

Compensation and benefits: The estimated pay range for this position is $100,000-$150,000.
