Student Enrollment & Retention Manager Full Description

Overview: 
Position is responsible for the leadership of the following functional areas: Advising and Recruitment. This position develops and oversees an enrollment management plan to meet student and retention enrollment goals of the college. Oversees the strategies and processes of the student experience from the point of inquiry to the point of completion. The position is responsible for an onboarding and retention plan that aligns within the Guided Pathways framework.The position will work to identify and remove barriers to student success, with a focus on equity, inclusivity, and access. Position will work collaboratively with the other functional areas within Student Services and throughout the College with an emphasis on continuous process improvement and student completion.
 
This position will be open until filled, with a first review date of June 9, 2025. After this date, the recruitment may close without further notice. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Responsibilities: 
Provide leadership for enrollment management and student success with a focus on equity and best practices within the Guided Pathways framework:
  1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of enrollment management from point of inquiry through completion. Supervise related programming at all sites with an emphasis on student growth, retention, and success. 
  2. Identify best practices and implement them to increase student enrollment, retention, and success. 
  3. Direct process improvements that enhance efficiencies, allow for a seamless student onboarding experience, and contribute to student success.
  4. Provide oversight to ensure College policies and procedures are developed and followed.
  5. Provide leadership to the Student Success Committee and the Student Enrollment Plan. 
  6. Strategize and implement solutions to address gaps in enrollment and student success data.
  7. Advise College Leadership on matters related to enrollment management and retention.
  8. Participate on the Student Services Leadership team; provide insight on the direction of the department.
 
Provide leadership/supervision to the Enrollment and Advising Teams
  1. Direct work appropriately among staff and evaluate the effectiveness of work division; establish work priorities to align with enrollment and partnership goals.
  2. Provide supervision to the Enrollment and Advising teams; Responsible for hiring, training, coaching, and supporting staff through direct supervision and professional development/training support.
 
Lead activites related to Advising, Recruitment, and K-12 initiatives
  1. Oversee, develop and manage the College’s Strategic Enrollment Management Plan and the cross-functional efforts, including data evaluation, plan development, direct implementation, and ongoing assessment.
  2. Provide enrollment reports; analyze data, and determine enrollment-related decisions accordingly. 
  3. Manage the technology platforms to support recruitment and retention goals (CRM and Early Alert System).
  4. Oversee new student onboarding experience for students, including special populations such as high school, transfer, dislocated, and military veterans. 
  5. Develop, implement, and assess programming directed towards students needing additional support including underprepared, probation, students with challenges transitioning to college, and students with disabilities.
  6. Oversee the departments of Recruitment for recruitment, community outreach, high school visits, and all enrollment management efforts at BTC.
  7. Lead efforts to provide comprehensive career exploration planning and goal setting for all students. 
  8. Support campus-wide and community resource referrals to ensure successful student transition and support.
  9. Collaborate with the Marketing department to ensure recruitment and retention related materials and communication plans are in alignment with marketing and enrollment plans. 
  10. Collaborate with Academic Affairs and Workforce and Community Development regarding student success, dual credit, and college-wide recruitment and retention initiatives.
 
Lead K-12 Relationship Efforts 
  1. In collaboration with Early College Specialist, oversee the development of dual credit pathways and opportunities for students to have access to BTC.
  2. Build and maintain relationships with K-12 administrators, faculty, and staff through consistent communication and meetings.
  3. Represent BTC in K-12 initiatives, activities, and planning meetings. Respond to K-12 needs creatively and strategically to increase collaborative opportunities.
  4. Ensure Recruitment staff and Early College Specialist are meeting the goals and expectations of K-12 relationships.
  5. Work internally to improve processes that affect K-12 administrator and K-12 student experiences with BTC.
 
Plan, develop, and manage the department budget, including grants and operational budgets, in accordance with College procedures and guidelines. Qualifications: 
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  1. Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  2. Strong attention to detail; must be able to perform complex tasks without error.
  3. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and project management skills.
  4. Experience working with diverse populations, such as English Language Learners, minority populations, high school students, returning adults, displaced workers, and veterans.
  5. Ability to coordinate grant programs, data collection and reporting.
  6. Ability to collaborate with others in difficult situations.
  7. Ability to communicate clearly to staff, students, and the general public.
  8. Ability to think creatively and promote innovative thinking among peers.
  9. Ability to work independently and make sound independent decisions.

  11. Knowledge of academic, career, and life planning.
  12. Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  13. Experience working with student information systems such as Banner including student success/retention and customer relationship management platforms.
 
Education & Experience:
  1. Master’s Degree in education, counseling, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.   
  2. Four years of experience in Enrollment Management and/or Student Affairs. 
  3. Two years of supervision/leadership experience and/or project management experience.
