Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
The student success coach supports students from the time of enrollment through graduation. This position is responsible for executing success coaching techniques and strategies, which encompasses providing personalized guidance to implementing a scaled set of interventions for enhancing student success and increasing persistence, retention, and graduation. The student success coach provides exceptional customer service at all times. Must have knowledge of best practices for student retention, student success, and student development theories., experience in academic and/or life coaching, providing direction and guidance to students. Requires the ability to connect and build a trusting relationship with students, work independently and with colleagues in a team effort, work in a fast-paced environment, respond well under pressure, and adapt to change, meet deadlines and prioritize simultaneous work assignments; active listening and problem-solving skills, exceptional oral and written communication skills and experience with using multiple types of technologies, including student information systems and CRMs.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience | Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials |
Preferred Qualifications | Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Education, Social Work, or related field and two years of relevant experience in college-level coaching, advising, and/or student advocacy.

Job Duty | Individualized CoachingProvide success coaching using academic coaching techniques through a variety of formats including drop-in interactions, individual appointments, and presentations/workshops to:
Assist students with completing individualized action plans through goal-setting, major and career exploration.
Conduct preliminary needs assessment to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement.Monitor and track student progress toward their goals and provide ongoing support andencouragement.
