Student Support Services Counselor position
. This is a full-time, 12-month, restricted professional faculty appointment with an excellent benefits package. Continuation of the position is contingent upon grant funding (current grant is funded through 8/31/2030). The anticipated salary will be no less than $68,293, commensurate with education and experience. The role will be located on the Glenns campus. This is an immediate appointment.

The college strives for a faculty of content experts who are also knowledgeable about best practices and innovative strategies that support teaching and learning.
The Student Support Services (SSS) Program is a federal TRiO Program funded through the U. S. Department of Education to provide academic, career, and financial counseling to eligible students and to encourage them to pursue their post-secondary education. Participating students are enrolled at RCC and meet at least one of the following criteria: low-income standard, first generation college status, and/or documented disability.Reporting to the Director of TRiO Programs (Student Support Services and Upward Bound Program Director), the Student Support Services (SSS) Counselor plays a vital role in supporting the academic, personal, and professional success of program participants. This position provides individualized advising, counseling, and guidance to students to help them navigate barriers to higher education. Responsibilities include recruiting eligible program participants, assisting students with academic planning, financial aid and scholarship guidance, transfer preparation and career exploration, as well as providing personal support to encourage persistence and graduation. The SSS Counselor also develops and facilitates workshops, coordinates cultural and educational activities, maintains accurate student records, and ensures compliance with federal TRiO program regulations. The incumbent must be able to operate and utilize technology to include the use of Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, online assessments, Google docs, and electronic filing systems. Overall, this position is dedicated to empowering students to achieve their educational and career goals while fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Some work at the Warsaw campus and traveling with students is required. Such travel will include occasional overnight, weekend and out-of-state trips.

KSA's/Required Qualifications | Master’s degree in education, counseling, or relevant field. Experience in advising and counseling. Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with diverse populations. Experience in the use of technology, including Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom and Google docs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to adhere to federal, state and institutional regulations.
