Job Summary  | The Support Specialist II will support front reception office by answering and routing telephone calls, making appointments, answering routine questions from students, staff, and administration inside and outside the department, checking patient insurance, and performing administrative tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities  | Serve as the initial contact for patient entry into UTA Health Services. Determine a student’s eligibility for care. Route telephone calls to the appropriate staff member. Check-in patients, schedule appointments and follow-up visits. Ensure a high level of customer service and courtesy are always provided. Assist patients with completion of medical record forms and release of records documents. Efficiently and accurately utilize the appropriate modules of the electronic medical record system to enter patient data. Advise students and departments on administrative questions. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications  | High School Diploma or GED. One (1) year of experience providing, clerical, or administrative support or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience in similar role. Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), PDF and standard office equipment. Experienced in managing tasks independently and efficiently in a fast-moving environment. Excellent customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications  | Three (3) years of clerical, or administrative support. Previous employment in Healthcare.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities  | Knowledge of Electronic Health Record systems. Skill in operating standard office equipment.
