Department Overview:
 | The Business Services Office (BSO) at the UW School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM) oversees the day-to-day financial operations of the school and provides financial support and expertise in the areas of purchasing, expense reimbursement, gift processing, cash management, reconciliation, data analysis, financial reporting and budgeting.

Schedule:
 | This position offers flexible scheduling between Monday and Friday, 8:00 am-4:00 pm, to support the student's academic schedule. Work is on-site and assigned on a project basis, which may result in occasional gaps in scheduling for some of the weeks, if there are no projects available.

 | Minimum: $20.00 Maximum: $25.00

Qualifications:
 | Majoring in Accounting with at least 9 credits of introductory Accounting classes completed, covering concepts of debits, credits and accrual accounting 
Availability to work in the office over summer months

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
 | Experience using MS Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook. Advanced Excel skills, such as lookup formulas and creating pivot tables are a plus, but not required.

 Position Summary/Job Duties:
 | In this role, you’ll be part of a collaborative team of finance professionals who support the School of Veterinary Medicine’s financial operation. The responsibilities include a variety of administrative and financial tasks that are mostly seasonal and project based, such as preparing accounting journals, records retention, assisting with reconciliation of funds, maintaining deposit logs, updating staff funding, entering budgets and forecast, and assisting with other one-time special projects, as needed. While the position averages approximately 8-10 hours per week, hours may vary from week to week, due to the seasonal and project based nature of the work, including occasional weeks when no work is available. Student must be available to work during the summer months. This position involves handling sensitive and confidential information, discretion and professionalism are essential.
