Job Summary
Systems Administrator, II

University Campus Computer Support is seeking a highly motivated, upbeat, and approachable IT System Administrator II to join our dynamic, customer facing desktop and server support team. This onsite position plays a critical role in supporting a wide range of IT and AV technologies across campus and at some off-site University venues. The ideal candidate is a skilled IT professional with some AV experience, extensive desktop support, server management, and system automation experience who has a passion for service excellence, technical troubleshooting, and continuous learning.

Responsibilities
Systems Administrator, II

• Support and maintain Windows and macOS workstations, MS Windows servers, and specialized software.
• Configure and troubleshoot network connections, printers, and other peripherals.
• Perform system updates, patch management, and routine maintenance tasks.
• Deliver timely, professional, and courteous support to faculty, staff, and students.
• Respond to service request and incident tickets with a focus on resolution, timeliness and user satisfaction.
• Utilize our Service Now system to update ticket information document support procedures and contribute to knowledge base articles.
• Work closely with team members to share knowledge and cross-train on unique systems.
• Assist in onboarding and training of new staff or student employees as needed.
• Follow established IT processes and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records of system configurations, support activities, and asset inventory.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and software relevant to the University’s needs.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and be available for after-hours support as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Other support and maintenance activities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:

Systems Administrator, II: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.


Preferences
• Strong coordination, organization, time management, and communication skills.
• Extensive experience with configuration and trouble shooting and support of Microsoft Windows operating systems, MS Office products, Mac Operating Systems, Adobe products and their best practices.
• Experience with JAMF, SCCM and Beyond Trust Endpoint management systems and their configurations.
• Experience with supporting and maintaining Mac OS
• MS SQL database administration.
• ITIL Foundation Certification.
• A+, MCSE, CCNA, Network+, or other applicable certifications.
• Experience with VM server environments running MS Windows server platform.
