About the Center for High Performance Computing (CHPC) The Center for High Performance Computing (CHPC) is a cornerstone of innovation at the University of Utah. We play a vital role in enabling scientific research at campus, state, and national levels by providing large-scale computational and data services. From climate modeling to drug discovery, CHPC empowers researchers to solve complex problems through a massive ecosystem of 50,000+ CPU cores, 1,000+ GPU resources, and 50PB+ of storage. Job Summary Under the direction of the HPC Systems Team Lead, you will join a collaborative team of specialists. In this role, you will work closely with senior mentors to develop skills in High Performance Computing (HPC) Systems administration. You will assist in supporting cluster and workload orchestration systems within a complex environment, focusing on compute clusters, host-side networking, and storage connectivity. Work Environment

| Minimum Qualifications |
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience). Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:
Systems Administrator, I: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master’s (or equivalency) degree.
Systems Administrator, II: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.
Analytical Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and resolve challenges through a mix of critical thinking and following detailed instructions in a complex environment. |
